What You Need to Know about A Paintball Pistol? Complete Guide!

A paintball pistol is a variation of a paintball gun, with an integrated reservoir for carrying and using up to 6-8 paintballs at once. Coupled with a speed loader, these pistols are considered to be the most effective weapons in the game.  

They are typically designed with built-in reservoirs that allow quick and easy reloading without having to manually insert new cartridges into the magazine tube. In contrast with airsoft guns, which use compressed air as their main propellant, these pistols tend to fire projectiles at higher velocities due to their lighter weight and shorter barrel length.

Construction of a Pistol

The paintball pistol is constructed of an aluminum or plastic receiver with an integrated grip. An automated internal feed mechanism feeds the cartridges into the gun, which are then transferred to the magazine tube and discharged through a muzzle. 

 

The grip of the pistol often contains an integrated trigger or trigger guard, allowing players to fire each round by pulling the trigger, held at rest by a mounted single-action hammer. 

 

Typically, these have a manual safety in place of a fire selector switch, usually incorporating a red dot which must be aligned with the sights to "cancel" the gun's firing pin before firing. When the safety is activated, the gun may not fire without being "cocked."

The internals of these pistols are very similar to those of paintball rifles, but instead of using a 4-stroke pump action, they use an air pistol or electric bolt. They are more expensive than other types of airguns and typically offer less velocity, but have a longer range than most pistols.

Working Principles of Pistols

The working mechanism of the paintball pistol is split into three components: The grip, trigger, and barrel.

At the front of the grip is a barrel that is pushed into place by pushing down on a release lever located at the top. The grip also houses two tubes that are filled with air, which are called "paintballs" as they are filled with colored dye. Paintballs come in many different colors but black is most common for game play.

The trigger is inserted into a slot at the top of the grip and is held in place by a screw. The grip, trigger, and barrel are all connected to one another by three plastic pins which hold them together firmly. To load the paintball pistol, you must first pull back the release lever located on the top of the pistol grip. 

·        Barrel:

Once this is done you will be able to push in on an ejection tube that exists on both sides of the handle so that it pushes outwards from your grip. To load paintballs into each side of this tube, you must take a paintball and push it into place using your hand so it stays seated in each hole.
